Dear Community,
Our team looks forward all year to celebrating dia de los Muertos with you in Old Town Coachella. We look forward to the procession, to the amazing altares and installations, to seeing you cross the finish line and dance with your friends.
We feed off the block party energy that welcomes diverse local communities as well as visitors from throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
We planned and planned again. We created protocols and did everything we could to have Run with Los Muertos this year.
It’s just not possible. And while we will not be able to have a Block Party & 5k this year for us to celebrate together, our hope is that in a distanced manner we can all continue to honor the dead and appreciate the living.
Our event partner Raices Cultura has been celebrating Dia de los Muertos in the City of Coachella since 2004. This amazing organization will be producing a virtual event on November 1st. We will be supporting their efforts and we encourage you to do the same.
We know how important the tradition to run for those we have lost has become for so many of you. In a year like this with so many losses, the customs, and intentions of dia de los Muertos are integral to our wellbeing. We appreciate our partners and sponsors, and your continued interest and support. As an organization we remain dedicated to creating space for art, culture, health, and wellness to coexist.
Please check back with us here on future programming. Until then, let’s stay active and take care of each other.
We will be running together again soon.
In solidarity,
The Run with Los Muertos Team
